Arizona signed numerous defensive recruits on Wednesday and here are the chances of them playing freshman year.
Trevor Erno: Erno is a four-star linebacker that came to Arizona to play right away. He is athletic and a major hitter, thus the UA coaches feel great about him. Honestly, we see little reason to keep him off the field if he is as good as advertised. Chances: 85 %
Jake Fischer: Fischer will compete for a spot, but may need a year to develop. he is going to be a major contributor down the road, but the linebacking core is deep this year and there is little room for two freshmen linebacker. Chances: 25 %
Cordarius Golston: Golston is expected to help on special teams, or so he has been told. He is in a very similar position to Fischer's, but he has a little bit more speed and can thus be used on special teams if he pans out. Chances: 40 %
Adam Hall: Hall's chances of playing are at safety and we think he has a pretty good shot. He may not be a starter, but he is on defense because that is the best opportunity to play. With an open competition and pure athletic ability, we like his chances. Chances: 50 %
Jonathan Hollins: Hollins is one of the bigger catches here. He is a JC guy that the coaching staff believes can play at any school in the country. As deep as the UA is at DT, Hollins is a beast. Chances: 90 %
Ryan Milus: Milus needs to gain weight and thus will probably redshirt. We supposed there is a chance he gains that weight before camp, but is is still going to be difficult to contribute right away. Chances: 20 %
CJ Parrish: Parrish is going to have a chance to start and if he does not, we expect him to be on special teams. He is very fast and a hard hitter and should make an impact sooner than later. Chances: 70 %
Jackson Powell: Powell needs to put on some more weight and a redshirt year will help him do that. If there is an injury, he could probably step in. However, redshirting is the main goal. Chances: 20 %
Sione Tuihalamaka: Arizona is so deep at DT that all signs point to a redshirt year. He will definitely be a contributor down the road, but not his first year. Chances: 10%
Justin Washington: He is like Powell in that he needs to put on some weight. Once he does, he has a chance to be very special, but that will likely come in a couple years. Chances: 10 %
