Washington State up next

Washington State is up next for Arizona, as the Wildcats' season starts its home stretch.

Washington State is up next for Arizona and the Wildcats are aware that WSU is coming off of a big win against UCLA.

While the Cougars have little chance of making the tourney, the game still sees two teams needing wins.

"I've said it for the past five months: I just want to play good basketball and that will take us to where we need to be, if that's the post-season or not," Bennett said.

"It's not so much ‘can we get into the NCAA tournament' it's can we play a level of basketball that gives us a chance to be successful."

WSU will have an opportunity to play at that high level of basketball while at home this week.

However, Washington State coach Tonny Bennett says that being at home has not been a major advantage for the Cougars.

"We have played well at home in stretches, but we just haven't been able to finish," he said.

"Our three leading scorers, it does seem like they're more on track on the road than at home. I wish we could be more dominant at home."

Bennett tries to keep a positive outlook on the season and says he looks at the overall play rather than the record that comes from it.

"I don't usually place a record" on expectations, Bennett said. "My hope was if we could really execute, we'd have a chance of postseason play."

"It's just such an interesting mix with those seniors. … It hasn't been the most consistent, but there's been some good ball played."
