Terriers upend 'Noles

Boston University upset Florida State 84-69 in the first round of the Fiesta Bowl Classic. The Terriers used solid defense and good outside shooting to upend the Seminoles.

Matt Turner led Boston University with 18 points andfive assists, while Rashard Bell added 10 points and eight rebounds. Billy Collins chipped in 15 for head coach Dennis Wolf's team.

BU hit 14 of 33 three-pointers. Collins hit 4-8 threes and Chaz Carr scored 12 points, hitting 4-7 from beyond the arc. Carr also dished out six assists.

The Terriers held Florida State to just 37% shooting, and only 31% in the second half. The more athletic Seminoles shot just 4-14 from behind the three point arc.

Boston University advances to the championship game and will face the winner of the Arizona/Davidson match-up. Florida State will play in the consolation game.

Boston U. moves to 5-5 on the season, while FSU drops to 6-3.

"Of course, we're excited about playing Ariozna (in the championship game), Wolf said. "We come to a tournament like this hoping to win one of two games,"

It doesn't appear that Wolf is real confident about his team leaving Tucson with a winning record.
