Just when it looked like Kevin Parrom would be the last option for 2009, Lance Stephenson has entered the picture.
Sources tell Wildcatscoop.com and rumor has been spreading that Stephenson has reached out to the Wildcats and the two parties may be showing mutual interest.
Before people get too excited, the interest is extremely preliiminary and no visits or anything of the sort have been planned.
Sources says that the first domino fell when Xavier Henry chose Kansas. At this point, it would be very difficult for Stephenson to go to a school that already has a set rotation.
St. John's is another school that has been mentioned but staying close to home may not be all that it is cracked up to be for Stephenson and the Red Storm may not be competitive enough.
Stpehenson and Book Richarson have had a relationship for a while and it seems that the recruitment will start there.
Should Arizona be able to land Stephenson, the Wildcats would have to be considered a true contender for the conference title. A back court of Nic Wise and Stephenson would be more than formidable and would certainly help shorten the rebuilding process.
Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
