There are plenty of basketball recruiting updates and here is a breakdown of what we are hearing:

Lamont "Momo" Jones will be deciding on June 29. He is down to Arizona and Florida and has not given any hints as to which team he favors.

Both teams could use him greatly, so playing time should not be an issue at all. It will come down to which school he is most comfortable at and we will find that out in a week.

Derrick Williams is another former SC commit that is looking at Arizona. He is down to Memphis, Arizona, and Arizona State. Williams is on a visit to Memphis currently and there is a chance that he decides to visit both Arizona schools within a week.

Like Jones, Williams has given no indication about which school he favors, although Arizona and Memphis will likely be difficult for ASU to beat.

Former SC commit Gary Franklin has opened things back up due in large part to the fact that he knows all about Kevin O'Neill.

Franklin played under him at an Arizona elite camp and obviously was not very high on the experience. Although the new staff has not offered, expect the UA to be right in the thick of things with many other schools.

6-foot-9, 220-pound San Diego FB Morse forward James Johnson was impressive at the NBPA camp and will likely be even more highly regarded now.

Arizona is in very good shape with Johnson, but there is likely going to be more competition for him in a matter of time.

6-foot-1, 175-pound Detroit Country Day point guard Ray McCallum is still high on the UA and we expect Florida, Duke, Kansas, and others to be involved.

Still, McCallum's father and Sean Miller have known each other for quite a while and the UA is definitely in there.
