We had an opportunity to see many Arizona prospects in attendance and here are our general thoughts:
Sean Miller and company are a dedicated team. There was not one moment when Ray McCallum, Dominique Ferguson, and Trey Zeigler did not have an Arizona coach in the stands. Simply put, these three have become major targets for the UA.
Ray McCallum is a must get at this point. Phil Pressey is right there, but McCallum was easily the best point guard we saw all week in terms of those that Arizona has a legitimate shot with.
With the relationship he has with Book Richardson, don't count out Josh Selby. It may be near impossible to get him, but you just can't give up on that talent. He is certainly a special player, which explains why every team in the country will want him
San Diego forward James Johnson is going to be a very good player. He was just as versatile as we heard he was, which makes him a no brainer recruit. In fact, we're surprised even more teams don't want him.
The class of 2011 is much stronger than 2010. When you have guys like Kyle Wiltjer, Josiah Turner, Nick Johnson, etc in the west, you know it is a strong class. 2010 has a lot of question marks in it while 2011 has more sure things.
Naadir Tharpe is good, but he has to play better. He had a spectacular game in Vegas but beyond that, did not do much to seperate himself from the other point guards Arizona is recruiting right now.
