Arizona head coach Mike Stoops met with the media on Monday in order to wrap up camp and partially look ahead to the season opener against Central Michigan.

of course, he talked plenty about the quarterback situation and it seems that the coaching staff intends to play both Matt Scott and Nick Foles in the first game.

"I don't know if we are any closer to naming a starter other than that I am pleased with both," Stoops said.

"I think Sonny Dykes is pleased with both quarterbacks. I would say we would be comfortable in saying that it is very likely that we could see both quarterbacks in the first game."

With that being said, Stoops would ideally like to have a solid starter throughout the season.

"I think we will have a starter going into game week and name a starter and try to build our offense as close around that player as we can, but I think that the opportunity will present itself that it will be very possible that we could play them both," Stoops said.

No matter who the QB is, the job will be much easier when the UA is healthy, which should be sooner than later.

"Delashaun Dean and Rob Gronkowski are still day to day," he said. "The earliest would probably be towards the end of the week. We fully anticipate them playing in the first game.

"We are hoping we can get them in towards the end of this week to start them back. We would hate to wait until next week, but we will see."

Stoops believes that there should be plenty of time to throw it to both, as the offensive line has improved.

"I continue to be impressed with our offensive line," he said. "I think we have made some huge improvements up there. We had to shuffle some guys around but Vaughn Dotsy is getting back in there, I like what Mike Diaz is doing at left tackle and Phillip Garcia has really been a bonus for us at left tackle as well.

"I think we are developing pretty close to a two deep on our offensive line. I think you see that the physical nature of their play and our ability to run the football has been very good. I think the pass protection has gotten better and better."
