Recruiting Hot Board: Defense

Here is a look at the top defensive players Arizona is recruiting

Here is a look at the top defensive players Arizona is recruiting.

Defensive end

Andrew Hudson: Hudson has kept his recruitment slightly quiet, but Arizona is doing a good job. Oregon State and Washington could be tough to beat, but it seems the UA is in strong position for an official visit.

Tony Washington: Another defensive end, Washington has seen his recruitment blow up. Arizona has offered and the Wildcats seem to be in line for an official. If UCLA offers, the recruitment could end, but much of the Pac-10 continues to recruit him.

Victor Burnett: Arizona was the first school to offer Burnett and it seems to be doing pretty well with him. Oklahoma and Washington are also doing very well, so this recruitment has plenty of time left.

Anthony Beard: Arizona is in Beard's top two or three schools and will probably remain there. Colorado and Missouri are right there with the Wildcats but Tim Kish has done a good job recruiting him.

Josh Shirley: Shirley may be the highest on Arizona's board right now. The UA is going to have to compete for an official, but is in good shape to get one. At this point, it would be a surprise if he left Los Angeles, but the UA is doing just fine.

Kyle Benson: Benson is one of Arizona's top in state targets, but things could get tough if ASU offers. As of now, Oregon is doing well with him and the general thought is that the UA is his favorite.

Derek Earls: Arizona would love to land Earls, as he would be expected to play right away. Earls is waiting to get more visits, but the UA is going to try to get him on campus early and lock him up.

The rest of the defense, including numerous other prospects, will be displayed on Friday.
