Athlete commits to Cats

Dane Krogstad, a 6-2, 220 pound athlete from Forrestville (Calif.) El Molino has committed to Arizona. The talented athlete actually committed two weeks ago but we just caught up with him today.

"I visited there earlier in the month (Jan. 10) and committed on the trip," Krogstad said. "I just liked everything about the school and didn't see any reason to wait and look around."

Krogstad played all over the field this past season including wide receiver and running back on offense and safety and linebacker on defense. We rated him in the pre-season as a tight end but the athlete said he'll likely play on the defensive side of the ball for the Wildcats.

"Most likely linebacker is where I'll start at," Krogstad said. "I would like to play early if I can but if I have to red-shirt, I have no problem with that either."

Krogstad had a strong showing at the Nike Camp in Eugene (Ore.) where he clocked a 4.72 in the 40, 4.07 in the shuttle, jumped 29 inches in the vertical and did 18 reps on the bench. Cal, Oregon and Oregon State were also showing interest and had offered visits.
