Basketball Recruiting Update

Here is a look at how the basketball landscape stands

Here is a look at how the basketball landscape stands:

Rod Odom: Odom is likely going to decide this week and it seems that Arizona is in the driver's seat.

He had a chance to meet with his father on the Harvard visit this past weekend and it will be interesting to see if he takes his Boston College visit as well.

As of now, he may not that that visit and if he does not, Arizona seems to be his likely destination.

Alex Kirk: Kirk visited Arizona this past weekend and definitely enjoyed it.

With that being said, we would be surprised if he ended up there. There is a ton of pressure for Kirk to stay home and play for New Mexico and at the end of the day, that pressure is likely going to be too much.

Adreian Payne: Payne has secretly become one of the players that the Wildcats have the best chance to land.

Location has long thought to be a factor with him, but his visit to the UA shows that is no longer the case. Kentucky and West Virginia are going to make a push, but Arizona is right there.

Payne is visiting on October 9 and the visit could decide whether or not Payne chooses to live in Tucson.

Doron Lamb: Kansas and Oklahoma are emerging as the favorites, but it is not as big of a lead as some may think.

Arizona is right in there and there is a solid chance he will visit. If he does, the UA has a great shot and if not, it will be very difficult to land him.

Cory Joseph: Joseph had an in-home with Arizona last week and it went well, although you never hear about them going poorly.

He is playing his recruitment very quietly, but the Wildcats seems to be in good shape. texas is going to make a push, as are others, but Arizona has a good relationship with Findlay and Joseph.

Gary Franklin: Don't be surprised if Franklin commits to Cal this weekend. Often times when a player waits this long, surprises will happen.

If he does not commit to Cal, Arizona and Arizona State are right there. At one point, it looked as if he would go to ASU but that possibility has dwindled somewhat and all bets are now off.

Terrence Jones: Jones is looking at seven schools and Arizona is one of them. He is a very quiet kid and it could be a while before we see a school emerge.

He is definitely one of Arizona's top targets, but a lot of school could say the same thing and rightfully so.
