Berryman makes his decision

Jason Berryman had narrowed it down to two. The talented LB/DE from Houston was trying to decide betweem the Wildcats and Iowa State. After meeting with both coaching staffs earlier in the week, Berryman said he's talk to his coaches and make a decision on Thursday. Berryman made his decision earlier today.

The Wildcat coaches were in Berryman's home on Monday and Cyclone coaches made their pitch Wednesday night. The last pitch worked and Berryman chose Iowa State.

"I really liked Iowa State," Berryman told Inside Texas. "Not only is Ames a college town, but the support for the Iowa State program is unbelievable. Everywhere you go, there are thousands of Cyclone fans."

In the end the Cyclone's combination of high profile conference and recent success were important. That, and their academic support.

"Iowa State answered my questions about job placement ratio after I finish up with my degree," he said. "The other schools either didn't have the data handy or they didn't know. Once I'm done playing football, I'd like to use my degree to pursue a business career and Iowa State gives me the best opportunity to do just that."
