Arizona has received a huge commit for the 2010 class as three-star North Dakota linebacker Derek Earls has pulled the trigger.

When asked to describe why so many schools were recruiting him, Earls told JCFootball.com "I can read plays really quickly, so that allows me to use my speed and quickness to make plays.

"I can bump out and get into my zone drop quickly and rush the quarterback, but I can also rush the quarterback and I can be physical. It allows me to do anything a coaching staff needs me to do."

Earls will have an opportunity to come in and start, as Arizona will be looking for maturity at the linebacker position.

It has bene known for a while now that the UA was a major contender for Earls, but it was thought previously that he would visit Oklahoma State as well.

However, Tim Kish did a good job of convincing Ealrs he was a good fit and the rest is history.
