Arizona knew that it would have to play a complete game in order to beat Vanderbilt.
Unfortunately for the Wildcats, it did not.
Vanderbilt shot 54 percent and Arizona shot 43 percent in a game that got away from the Wildcats late.
Solomon Hill was one of the few Wildcats to have a decent game, finishing with 17 points, nine of which came at the line.
However, the effort was not enough, as he had little help. Nic Wise shot 4-13 and struggled to get into a rhythm.
One major reason was because, once again, the refs seemed to control the game, as there were 44 total fouls.
Derrick Williams found himself in foul trouble all night, as did Jamelle Horne. Vanderbilt seemed to take advantage of it, as it shot 29 free throws.
Arizona's next game is Wednesday against UNLV and there is much to improve on. The UA will need to shoot a lot better and find a better contribution at the two spot in order to be a more dangerous squad.
