Arizona did something Saturday that it has not been able to do for eight years.

The Wildcats have finally beaten USC.

Arizona recovered from the Trojans taking the lead with a little over seven minutes to go when Juron Criner had a long touchdown catch to give the Wildcats the lead and eventually the 21-17 win.

The Wildcats went into the game as an eight point underdog, which is ironically the same number that the media picked them to finish at in the conference.

The win on Saturday shows just how far Arizona has come as a program, as it signifies that the UA is now ready to compete with the big boys of the conference and can now be looked at as contender.

There is plenty of accolades to go around, as Nick Foles played a solid game, passing for 239 yards and two touchdowns.

Foles may have had one mistake, but he ran Sonny Dykes' game plan to perfection and there did not seem to be much that the Trojans could have done about it.

Although there were some terrible efforts this season, the SC defense is still formidable and the UA still was able to move on it in big situations.

The game as a whole was one big situation.

USC was 47-1 at home going into this game.

No, you did not read that wrong. USC just does not lose at home and now, Arizona has done what only one team in the last 48 games was able to do.

With the win, it seems that the Wildcats will now play in the Holiday Bowl and the second place finish in the Pac-10 seems to be more about what is coming rather than a fluke situation.
