Sources tell Wildcatscoop.com that UNLV is set to announce Jim Livengood as its athletic director later this afternoon.
Former Oregon athletic director Bill Moos was considered to be the favorite for the job, but the two parties hit a contract snag in discussion and Livengood was then offered the job.
Livengood has faced a lot of criticism in his career for his handling of hiring coaches, but has a track record of seeing that the UA finished in the black.
The search for a new athletic director will begin immediaitely, with Xavier AD Mike Bobinski considered to be the heavy favorite.
We will have more information as it becomes available.
