Comeback falls short at USC

Arizona lost to USC 56-50 on Thursday night at the Galen Center.

Arizona found itself down 14 points in the second half before it started its comeback.

Unfortunately, the Wildcats just ran out of time.

The USC Trojans defeated Arizona 56-50 Thursday night at the Galen Center.

The main highlight of the game for the UA was the fact that it was finally able to hit the majority of its free throws.

Unfortunately, that percentage did not translate to the field, as the Wildcats shot a season low 30 percent.

A lot of the same problems that have plagued the UA throughout the season showed up again Thursday night, as Nic Wise once again struggled.

It is a foregone conclusion that if Wise struggles, another player on the team is going to have to step up.

Unfortunately, Arizona has yet to find that player and is suffering because of it.

Defensively, the UA did a relatively good job. Dwight Lewis and Marcus Johnson scored 14 points each, but there was not another player that hurt the Wildcats much more.

Arizona is still searching for that consistent and complete effort and if it finds it sooner than later, this could be an interesting season in terms of the teams it is able to beat.
