Arizona entered Saturday's game at Washington State with at least a tie for first in the Pac-10.
It was fun while it lasted.
The UA could not overcome offensive struggled, as it lost 78-60 at Washington State.
Washington State had a complete effort led by Deangelo Casto's 19 points and Reggie Moore and Klay Thompson's 12.
Arizona, on the other hand, struggled and was basically in the game because of the efforts of Derrick Williams.
After playing poorly against Washington, Williams bounced back for 17 points and seemed to be the go to guy at time.
Washington State built big leads throughout only to see the UA come back. Late in the game, with Arizona within six points, Jamelle Horne threw the ball away, basically ending any chance the UA had of coming back.
With the loss, Arizona drops out of first and will head home to face the Oregon schools.
