Arizona has a scholarship issue and at this point, it is one that many schools in the country would love to have.
As it waits for Kadeem Jack to make his decision, a new prospect has arrived and the UA must now decide how it is going to handle the recruitment of this player.
Miami Dade Community College big man Eloy Vargas has been thought to have been headed to Kentucky this entire recruiting cycle and thus did not have many schools actively recruiting him.
However, word came recently that transfer rules would not allow Vargas to enroll at Kentucky and it opened his recruitment back up, allowing Arizona to become much more involved.
Now, the Wildcats have to see how both Jack and Vargas choose to let their recruitments play out.
If Arizona can get Vargas on campus next week and he chooses to commit, it will be difficult to say no. Sure, there are some question marks, but a player of Vargas' potential is one that most coaches in America want.
As of now, Vargas is likely going to want to decide sooner than later while Jack seemingly wants to take a few more visits.
At this point in time, it makes sense for Arizona to get a little more aggressive, as it truly looks like the first of the two that want to come to Arizona will be allowed to do so, while the other is forced to choose a new school.
The possibility remains that Arizona would take both, but that would basically mean kicking a player off the team and then having a problem the UA has not had in years, which is having too many big men.
Such is the life of a college head coach and it will be interesting to see how it all plays out, as one miscue could be the difference between a Sweet 16 and a national championship.
UA has decisions to make
