Recruiting update

Arizona's basketball recruiting is starting to take shape and here is an update.

With Arizona's recruiting starting to take shape, it is much easier to see what the Wildcats would like to ideally see happen.

First, the race is on between Kadeem Jack and Eloy Vargas.

At this point, Vargas is planning to decide after Jack and Arizona can't lay back and not recruit Jack in order to get a commitment from him.

Arizona will likely go hard for both players, but Vargas' recruitment could end should Jack choose to come to Arizona.

The UA is definitely in it, but it is a bit of a concern that Jack is still dragging things out and making sure he takes all of his visits, especially because he definitely likes Arizona.

Vargas also likes Arizona, but his focus is not completely on recruiting right now. The UA definitely has a great chance, but it also can't wait for Vargas to decide if Jack wants to come on board.

Either way, a decision by either player puts an end to the 2010 recruiting cycle for Arizona.

As far as 2011 goes, it looks like the UA wants a Sidiki Johnson/Nick Johnson class.

That is not to say that Arizona is putting all of its eggs into one basket, but it definitely wants Nick Johnson and has made landing him a top priority.

At this point, it definitely looks realistic, but we will likely know more after the summer.
