Arizona had two players drafted in the NFL draft, as Rob Gronkowski went to the New England Patriots with the 42nd pick and Earl Mitchell went in the third round to the Houston Texans with the 81st pick.
Gronkowski was likely headed to the Baltimore Ravens and the Patriots got a hold of that same information, making the decision to trade up for the big tight end.
With the drafting of Florida tight end Aaron Hernandez only a few rounds later, the general belief is that Gronk will be used as a major red zone target.
Mitchell was projected by many to go in the fifth round, but the Texans obviously saw something they liked.
Houston already has plenty of talent on the defensive line, but they see Mitchell as a player with versatility that can contribute sooner than later.
In other draft news, Devin Ross was noticeably absent from the list of drafted players, but should get an invite to a camp.
As of press time, it looked as if Chris Gronkowski was headed to the Cowboys, with other Wildcats headed to several other NFL teams.
