After landing a commitment from Daxx Garman, it was expected that Arizona would focus on Brett Hundley in order to possibly land a second quarterback.
However, it seems things have changed a bit.
The Wildcats have decided to join an increasing crowd, as they have offered 6-foot-2, 225-pound Bakersfield (Calif.) Centennial quarterback Cody Kessler.
Kessler finished with 2,195 yards passing with 14 touchdowns and six interceptions in addition to 12 touchdowns rushing last season.
"I manage a game well," he tells Scout. "I've worked hard on my leadership and I'm good under pressure and when times are tough. I don't force things and am good at getting first downs and keeping things moving.
"I throw everyday and I'm just working on perfecting everything. I'm working on dropping back and getting my timing better."
It appears that Arizona is in Kessler's top five due in large part to the relationship he is starting to develop with QB coach Frank Scelfo.
"Yeah, I'd have to say they are [top five] just because Coach Scelfo seems like a really good coach. I like him a lot," Kessler tells Scout.
