Three players visiting this weekend

Three of the nation's top high school basketball players will visit the University of Arizona campus this weekend. One is here on an official visit, the others are here unofficially.

Jawann McClellan, a 6-5 junior guard from Houston (Milby), Tex., became the first player from the Class of 2004 to give the Wildcats a verbal commitment when he announced last summer that would be attending the University of Arizona. McClellan finished his junior season averaging 28 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists per game.

McClellan is on campus Friday through Saturday and will leave Sunday morning. He'll take a tour of the campus Friday, have dinner with Lute Olson and the coaching staff that evening and attend the Oregon game Saturday before returning to Houston Sunday morning.

Nic Wise, a 5-10 freshman point guard from Katy, Tex. and a friend of McClellan's will be making an official visit to the UA. Wise is considered the top point guard in the freshman class.

Jordan Farmar, a 6-2 combo-guard from Los Angeles (Taft), Calif., will also be making an unofficial visit. Farmer is considering Arizona, Connecticut, Stanford and Kansas. The general opinion is that Farmar might favor Arizona but that his mother, Melinda Kolani, would like to see her son attend Stanford University.

Wise and Farmer will arrive in Tucson Saturday, attend the Oregon game and return home Sunday morning.
