Arizona basketball recruiting is about to be in full swing and there is plenty of news.
* Jahii Carson is quickly gaining on Nick Johnson, but Arizona still seems to want Johnson.
In fact, the dilemma now seems to be whether or not Arizona can take both players.
In our opinion, Arizona has to absolutely find a way to do this and considering player transfers and such, it likely would not be that hard.
* 6-foot-3, 175-pound San Diego shooting guard Norman Powell is seeing his stock rise.
Powell is going to take his recruitment in and, at the end of the summer, will sit down and narrow things down.
Arizona should be right there until the end, although UCLA is probably the school to beat at this point.
* 6-foot-8, 225-pound Oakland Bishop O'Dowd power forward Brandn Ashley is another player that is taking his time.
Ashley plans to take his time and Arizona continues to recruit him hard with James Whitford in the lead.
Ashley will take his official visits and the UA would love to be one of them.
* 2011 forward Ryan Anderson has an offer from Washington State and more likely will not come until he plays this summer.
Arizona is evaluating him but considering the other options in the class, Anderson is going to have to be very impressive to get an offer.
