Throughout Fall Camp the defense has been a concern and Saturday's performance did nothing to end those fears.
The offense seemed to be doing what it wanted for the most part and while the defensive strategy was to allow the offense to go short, the players did not make enough plays for that strategy to work.
The cornerbacks did fine, but there was not enough consistent pressure from the defensive line to make their job any easier.
We do think the defense is improving, but it will be interesting to see how it does when the games start to count.
Anthony Wilcox caused a fumble and Adam Hall had a strip as well. The defense is certainly more aggressive than it was last season, but the team is going to have to learn how to control that aggression in order to be more effective.
There were no starters on defense that were a surprise and it seems that Robert Golden is locked in at corner with Trevin Wade manning the opposite side.
