Holmes has ASU in his top three

Southlake Carroll defensive back Sabian Holmes confirmed with AStateNation.com that he indeed has an offer and interest in Arkansas State. Go "Inside" to find out what Holmes had to say about the Red Wolves and when he plans on visiting Jonesboro.

Hugh Freeze is recruiting Texas as a priority this year.

Arkansas State currently have five commitments, two already from the Lone Star State. It appears that the Red Wolves will be getting another visit in the near future from another Texas athlete.

Southlake Carroll defensive back Sabian Holmes confirmed with AStateNation.com that he indeed has an offer and interest in Arkansas State.

"I plan on going up there during their fall camp to watch a practice," Holmes said. "I will go up in early August before our practices get going."

While Holmes admits not knowing a lot about Arkansas State, he appears to have done his research on line.

"I definitely have interest in them," Holmes said. "They are recruiting me to play defensive back. Coach Tom Allen is recruiting me for them. I talk with him every so often."

Holmes currently has offers from eight schools, including ones from Arkansas State, Wyoming, North Texas, Northwestern, Central Arkansas, Memphis and Texas State to name a few.

How does the Red Wolves stack up with Holmes?

"My top three are Baylor, Arkansas State and Texas State," Holmes said. "I want to get the chance to visit all the campuses before making a decision."

Holmes, is a 5-foot-10, 165-pound athlete that plays at one of the top programs in Texas. He is currently rated a two star prospect by Scout.com.
