Memphis junior already liking ASU

Arkansas State is already making an impact with upcoming juniors in the recruiting process. caught up with a Memphis Junior that has a lot of interest in the Red Wolves. Go "Inside" to see what Memphis East center Bobby Billingsley had to say about ASU.

Recruiting is all about building relationships.

Hugh Freeze the Arkansas State University first year head coach realizes this better than most.

Freeze, a former Memphis High School Head Coach for over 14 years, is making a big effort of recruiting the Bluff City.

One relationship that Freeze and his staff is building already is one with Memphis East Center Bobby Billingsley.

Billingsley showed up at a Memphis High School recruiting expo Saturday, displaying his Arkansas State Camp shirt.

"I have a lot of interest in Arkansas State," Billingsley told "I really love the campus there and the coaching staff is great."

Billingsley joined several of his high school teammates this summer and attended a Hugh Freeze Summer Camp in Jonesboro.

"Coach Freeze is a great coach," Billingsley said. "He is from Memphis and he is making recruiting Memphis a priority."

Billingsley, who is only a junior this fall, is a 6-foot-2, 265-pound center for his Memphis East HS team.

Billingsley enjoyed his time in Jonesboro.

"It was great," Billingsley said. "The coaching staff is great, I like Coach Hiller the offensive line coach a lot."

While Billingsley has no offers yet, he is hoping after a standout junior seasons, that situation will change.
