Red Wolves get great news from Clearinghouse

AStateNation.com broke the news this morning that Arkansas State University signee Terrious Tripplet has been cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse and was in enroute to Jonesboro. Since practice has completed this morning, Coach Hugh Freeze has confirmed this and Triplett has arrived. Go "Inside" for the latest on the situation.

Good news came early this morning for Hugh Freeze's Arkansas State University Football team when the head coach learned that star athlete and Red Wolf signee Terrious Tripplet had been cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse.

AStateNation.com learned of this before practice, Freeze confirmed it with media after practice that Tripplet had indeed been clear and had already arrived on campus.

"It was great news," Freeze said. "He definitely looks the part. It's great to have him on campus, now he is busy working to get enrolled here at Arkansas State. He received his clearance from the NCAA Clearinghouse."

While Tripplet has been cleared by the clearinghouse, he now has to get admitted to school, but no one expects that to be a problem at this point.

AStateNation.com got a chance to speak to Tripplet's head coach Duron Sutton this past weekend in Memphis to get his thoughts on his former star athlete.

"Arkansas State got a steal," Sutton said. "I truly believe he is a better athlete than all of my guys that has committed to SEC schools this fall. He was just under the radar and Coach Freeze did an outstanding job recruiting him."
