Alabama defensive lineman likes Red Wolves

One Alabama defensive linemen has the Red Wolves high on his list of favorites. caught up with John Youngblood to find out his thoughts about Arkansas State. Youngblood will be making a trip to Jonesboro next month, go "inside" for all the details of his future trip to ASU.

An Alabama defensive lineman appears to have a lot of interest in Arkansas State. caught up with Hewitt-Trussville High talented athlete John Youngblood Wednesday night to get his thoughts on the Red Wolves.

"They are definitely one of my top schools," Youngblood said. "They are a good program that is headed in a great direction with a new coaching staff."

Youngblood, a 6-foot-4, 230-pound defensive end, attended a summer camp in Jonesboro a couple of months a go and came away impressed with the Red Wolf Coaching staff.

"I really like their defensive line Coach Chris Kiffin," Youngblood said. "He has a lot of ties to the next level, he definitely knows how to coach the defensive line and knows what he is talking about."

Youngblood, who currently holds offers from Arkansas State, UAB, Memphis and Central Arkansas, will definitely make a visit to the Arkansas State campus for their game with Memphis.

"I'm coming up that weekend for sure," Youngblood said. "Both schools have offered me and I want to see how they do against one another."

Youngblood's season starts this Friday with a Jamboree and next week with the regular season opener.

"I'm really excited about Arkansas State," Youngblood said. "I can't wait to see what type of season they have this fall."

Youngblood also likes how the Arkansas State coaching staff has emphasized how important he is to their program.

"They definitely tell me how much they need me and that I'm one of their top targets on the defensive line," Youngblood said. "I really like them a lot and how they are recruiting me."
