One Arkansas athlete received his official offer Sunday afternoon.

Ozark lineman Colton Jackson called the coaches at Arkansas State University to check on perhaps coming to a football game, he got that information and much more.

"I just spoke to Arkansas State and they offered me," Jackson told AStateNation.com. "Words can't describe how I feel. To know I have the opportunity to play D1 football is amazing. I feel on top of the world."

Jackson took an unofficial visit to the campus last month and attended a summer camp there. He must have impressed the coaches.

"They liked me in camp a lot," Jackson said. "I thought after there was a good chance I might get the offer."

One thing that stood out to Jackson was the new coaching staff.

"They have a confidence about themselves as coaches," Jackson said. "You can tell they truly believe that they are going to get things turned around at ASU."

Will Jackson make a quick decision?

"Probably not, I will wait until after my senior season is over with to focus on recruiting," Jackson said. "Now I want to focus on having the best year I can have."

Jackson got a chance to see the campus when he made his earlier trip to Jonesboro.

"I like the campus a lot," Jackson said. "It's smaller but makes you feel at home."
