One Southaven Mississippi offensive lineman left Jonesboro Saturday night impressed with the Arkansas State Red Wolves.

Avery Gennesy, a 6-foot-4, 291-pound offensive lineman is holding an offer from Arkansas State and several other schools.

Gennesy got the chance to see for himself Saturday what it's like for a home football game at Arkansas State.

"I thought it was a great game," Gennesy said. "I loved the way their fans stayed and cheered for their team even though it was raining."

Gennesy was also impressed with the campus at ASU.

"It was really nice," Gennesy said. "I like it a lot."

Gennesy also has offers from UAB, Southern Mississippi, and Memphis.

Does the big offensive lineman have an early favorite?

"No not really," Gennesy said. "All of those schools are on my mind right now."

Gennesy got the chance to visit with the Red Wolf coaching staff.

"They were glad to see me," Gennesy said. "Told me how much they like me and want me in Jonesboro."

The Mississippi lineman doesn't plan on making a decision anytime soon.

"Most likely I will wait until National Signing Day," Gennesy said. "I will make my announcement then."
