There is a lot of excitement and energy surrounding Hugh Freeze and his Arkansas State Football program.
With 11 commitments already for the recruiting class of 2012, Freeze and his staff also showing marked improvement on the football field.
One current Red Wolf commitment Greg Buckhanon is also having a good season this fall.
Buckhanon, a defensive lineman for his Memphis Mitchell High School team, has recorded 7.5 sacks and 45 tackles so far.
How solid is the standout defender on his commitment to Arkansas State?
"I feel really solid about it," Buckhanon told AStateNation.com. "I have a really good relationship with Coach (Maurice) Harris, he is very easy to talk to about anything."
Buckhanon has also been keeping up with the Red Wolves success on the football field especially against Conference USA team Memphis.
"That game was crazy," Buckhanon said. "A lot of my friends were giving me a hard time about the game going in, how my team was going to lose, we showed them. I was surprised by how bad we beat them, I loved it."
The Memphis athlete is also very impressed with Arkansas State's new head coach.
"Coach Freeze is one of the top coaches in this area and probably further than that," Buckhanon said. "He can get me to the next level. He can make me a better football player and a better young man."
Buckhanon plans on taking an unofficial visit to Jonesboro in the near future.
"I want to get up to their next home game if I can."
