Sun Belt Power Rankings Week 7

1. The University located in Lafayette, Louisiana

The Ragin Cajuns have showed why they are the team to beat in the Sun Belt Conference. After defeating FIU on the road in Miami, they have back to back home wins against Florida Atlantic and an impressive win against Troy. UL will host North Texas this week, don't expect an upset here by North Texas.

2. Arkansas State University

The Red Wolves has accomplished something they haven't been able to do in past season, win close games on the road. Arkansas State went on the road and found a way to win at Western Kentucky and then came back with an outstanding defensive performance against ULM. This Tuesday night's game will tell a lot about this ASU football team, they face FIU at home in a nationally televised audience on ESPN 2.

3. Florida International University

FIU has won four games and lost two, this will be a big road game for the Panthers Tuesday night in Jonesboro, Arkansas. FIU has defeated some good teams in Louisville and Central Florida. They have lost to Lafayette and Duke.

4. Troy

Troy is always tough in Sun Belt Conference play, expect them to make some noise before this season is over. Troy has wins over Middle Tennessee and Alabama Birmingham and losses to Clemson, Arkansas, and Lafayette. This week is a huge conference home game for the Trojans when ULM comes to town.

5. The University located in Monroe Louisiana

The Warhawks played a good game last week against Arkansas State, the games they have lost this season have been to Florida State, TCU, and Iowa before opening conference play against the Red Wolves. They travel to Troy this weekend.

6.Western Kentucky

The Hilltoppers played close games in a lot of their contest this fall, they thought they had the win against Arkansas State before a fourth quarter rally by the Red Wolves. WKU then responded to that close game by going to Middle Tennessee and beating the Blue Raiders. They travel this week to play Florida Atlantic in the inaugral game of their new stadium.

7. North Texas

The Mean Green has won two out of their last three games including wins against Indiana and Florida Atlantic. They lost their season opener against FIU before playing non conference games against Houston, Alabama and Tulsa. North Texas has an opportunity to show that they are better than some might think when they travel to Lafayette this weekend.

8. Florida Atlantic

They have lost all five of their games so far and will look for win number one in the opener of their new stadium today against WKU. The Owls played a good close game against Lafayette 37-34 on the road. They host WKU this weekend.

9. Middle Tennessee

The only win the Blue Raiders have is a come from behind win against an awful Memphis team. They also have close losses to Troy, but a loss to Western Kentucky earns the Blue Raiders the No. 9 spot in this weeks rankings. MTSU has the weekend off before traveling to FAU next weekend.
