One Arkansas State commitment is home recuperating from a season ending injury.
AStateNation.com caught up with Rison, Arkansas athlete Marquis Walker Sunday afternoon, six days after having knee surgery after sustaining a season ending injury.
"I'm moving a long, this is a bump in the road," Walker said. "I had surgery last Monday, just home recovering."
Walker has spoken to Arkansas State recruiter Coach David Gunn.
"He told me to do what the doctors tell me to do," Walker said. "He told me to work hard and follow the doctors instructions."
Does Walker feel that Arkansas State is standing by him.
"Yes I think so," Walker said. "Coach Gunn never came out and said that exactly. He called checking on me and he said a lot of encouraging things. I feel confident I still have a scholarship, other teams have called me and said they are still wanting me."
Walker, a man of faith, plans on praying for his recovery.
"Being a man of faith I'm just going to pray for a quick recovery," Walker said. "You don't how much I wish I could be back out their with my high school team."
Walker said when one door closes another one opens and he is planning on working hard to recover and play for the Red Wolves next fall.
