Hugh Freeze and Arkansas State have the opportunity to do things this season that hasn't been accomplished in a long time.

The Red Wolves go into Boca Raton, Florida today to take on a winless Florida Atlantic University team for the Owls Homecoming.

Arkansas State enters the 3 p.m. eastern contest with a 6-2 and 4-0 Sun Belt record.

A victory Saturday would give Arkansas State their first seven win season since 1986, of course the Red Wolves have three more games after today.

"They are off to their best start in a long time," one veteran Red Wolf Fan said Friday. "Seven wins would be something they haven't done in a long time, this team has the makings of being a very special one in ASU history."

Freeze hasn't wanted to talk about being bowl eligible with four games remaining, he hasn't wanted to talk about anything but the task at hand, winning at FAU.

"We can't get caught up thinking about things like being bowl eligible or future games," Freeze told AStateNation.com. "This game worries me. Florida Atlantic has great athletes, they are the best 0-7 team I have ever seen."

There is no doubt this game has the makings of a "Trap Game" something that Freeze and his staff have been working hard on all week to make sure their team avoids.

"If we don't take care of business against FAU we will end up coming home unhappy," Freeze said. "In this league or in any league in the country you have to focus on one game at a time. We have to remember the hunger that has gotten us to this point, we have to remain very hungry, our goals aren't attained yet."

ASTATENATION'S FIVE KEYS TO VICTORY

No. 1: Arkansas State has had to take on three teams this season that had a week off before playing the Red Wolves. ASU must come out strong early, they can't afford to let FAU to gain early confidence or allow them to play high on emotions on their homecoming.

No. 2: The Arkansas State defense must continue it's streak. If they hold FAU's running back to less than a 100 yards today like they have all season long, a victory will be ensured for the Red Wolves.

No. 3: Arkansas State has to avoid turnovers but they also have to avoid complacency. This team has a lot of confidence and swagger, I don't think that they will overlook an athletic FAU team.

No. 4: Ryan Aplin doesn't need to be the leading rusher against FAU. The Red Wolves need to establish a running game with Derek Lawson and Frankie Jackson.

No. 5: The Red Wolf defense can't give up the big play. They have to play consistence in the secondary and not allow FAU any easy points.
