Today the Arkansas State University has the opportunity to accomplish greatness.
Yes greatness can be achieved here today in several ways.
The Red Wolves with a win today over Troy will give ASU 10 wins, making Arkansas State the only second Sun Belt team to accomplish that.
A win today will give the Red Wolves a 10-2 and 8-0 Sun Belt Record, joining only one other school doing the same thing.
No other Sun Belt School has ever finished with 11 wins, something that Arkansas State will be able to accomplished with a win today and a win against Northern Illinois in the Go Daddy.com Bowl.
Arkansas State has already claimed the Sun Belt Championship or at least a part of it, depending on how you look at it.
The Red Wolves has one team behind them with one loss, Western Kentucky, a team that ASU has already defeated this season. The Sun Belt's tie breaking scenario would give both teams a share of the conference.
"We don't want a share, we want it all," Senior DeMario Davis said earlier in the week. "It's been our goal since the season started to win the Sun Belt outright."
A win today over Troy will end a four game losing streak against the Trojans, marking off another thing on the Arkansas State to do list or bucket list as some call it.
Going into this season there were several things that Arkansas State hadn't ever accomplished, here are a few of those accomplishments.
Never won back to back conference road games. (Western Kentucky and Louisiana Monroe.)
Never beat Middle Tennessee at Middle.
First team in Arkansas State history that won seven ballgames since rejoining Division 1, this time as a FBS Member.
Hugh Freeze first head coach in school history to win at least seven games in his first year.
For Red Wolf fans throughout the country, we already know this team is great. This team isn't satisfied as the song says they want it all.
That all can be accomplished today with a victory over Troy.
