Coming into Arkansas State's last regular season game against Troy, senior wide receiver Dwayne Frampton needed 10 receptions to break the school record for career receptions, and 31 yards to break the record for single season reception yards.
Frampton ended the game with 10 receptions, 153 yards and one touchdown. His receiving yards on the night were a career best.
"Glory be to God first of all, for blessing me to get in this position," Frampton said.
After thanking God, Frampton talked about Freeze being a large factor in his success, and thanked him for being such a leader and influence in his life.
"I thank God for one that Im healthy, and I thank God for my coach," Frampton said. "My coach, man, he taught me a lot. He taught me to be a man, embrace things when they're not gonna go my way and when they do, so it's very humbling."
Frampton also applauded the Arkansas State fans for being such a great support, and laughingly thanked quarterback Ryan Aplin "for throwing him the ball."
All season long, it's been common across the board for players to say after having a stand-out performance that they were thankful, but that they still had more to focus on. Frampton was no different after the Troy game.
"We've still got a game left, and my mind is focused on whoever we're playing, I don't care who it is," he said.
Having gone undefeated in the Sun Belt and won an outright conference championship at the conclusion of Saturday's game, the senior said it's been a blessing to do so well in his last year at Arkansas State.
He did, however, point out that while he's a senior in eligibility, it's only his second year as a Red Wolf, and that he owes his and his team's success more so to the seniors that have been there for four years.
"Truthfully I owe it to Demario, Kelcie and those other guys, because technically I'm only a sophomore here, I've only been here two years," Frampton said. "So I am a senior, but I really owe it to them more to continue to play my hardest."
Frampton now holds the all-time school record in single season receptions, single season reception yards, and career receptions.
