One Arkansas State commitment has been busy tracking the coaching search at ASU.
Texas offensive lineman Micah Simmons is well aware of the coaching change that occurred last week in Jonesboro. He and his family are watching the situation closely.
"We are definitely keeping up with things at Arkansas State," Simmons told AStateNation.com recently. "I'm still committed to ASU right now, it will all depend on which coaches stay and which ones leave."
According to Simmons, the coaching staff at Arkansas State was one of the main reasons he made his pledge there.
"I loved that the coaches put God into their program," Simmons said. "It was easy to see that if you spent much time around them. That's very important to me."
Simmons also doesn't blame Hugh Freeze for taking the Ole Miss job.
"I don't blame him at all," Simmons said. "It was a great opportunity for him and his family."
Simmons has already spoken to one of the coaches that is currently at Arkansas State.
"He told me that they still wanted me," Simmons said. "Told me to wait it out and see who the new head coaching is going to be."
AStateNation.com will continue to keep all of AStateNation up to date on what the Red Wolf commitments are saying.
