The name Gus Malzahn is starting to get some attention, especially in the state of Alabama.
The former Auburn offensive coordinator has made some good relationships in the state of Alabama in recruiting, the new head coach at Arkansas State is probably hoping to use some of those connections to sway some recruits his way to Jonesboro.
"It caught me off guard," Curry told AStateNation.com recently. "It was definitely a surprise."
Curry is well aware of Arkansas State, he has held an offer from the Red Wolves for some time now.
"They are definitely an upcoming program," Curry said. "They went 10-2 and won the conference this year."
Curry, a three star tight end from Alabama, admitted that he will listen to Malzahn if he comes calling, but isn't really looking to change his mind.
"I'm not looking to change my mind," Curry said. "I'm willing to talk to him a little and see what he has to say."
Curry feels that Arkansas State is definitely picking up steam with the announcement of Malzahn as the new Red Wolf's Coach.
"There offense is only going to get better," Curry said. "Malzahn is one of the best offensive minds in the business."
