One Arkansas State commitment is waiting to hear from its new Head Football Coach Gus Malzahn and his new coaching staff.

New Orleans quarterback Jyron Walters hasn't heard from the new coaching staff yet and is hoping to do so in the near future.

Walters is impressed with Malzahn and feels that the veteran SEC Offensive Coordinator can take the Red Wolves Football program to the next level.

"It's an exciting hire," Walters admitted to AStateNation.com. "I think he can take this team to a new level. The team did great this past season and the future appears to be bright for Arkansas State."

Walters is excited about the opportunity to play in Malzahn's offensive system.

"He has won a National Championship," Walters said. "He is a great quarterback coach."

Walters is hoping he hears from Malzahn soon.

"I'm looking forward to hearing from him, want to visit with him and get to know him," Walter said. "I'm still very much committed to Arkansas State."

Walters earned an offer from the old coaching staff during a summer camp.
