It appears that Malzahn will go after some top quarterbacks no matter if they are already committed elsewhere or not.

AStateNation.com recently spoke to Alabama standout signal caller Jonathan Wallace and confirmed that Wallace has already heard from Malzahn's new staff.

Wallace has been a long time commitment for Southern Mississippi, and while he remains committed to the Golden Eagles, it appears he is willing to listen to what Malzahn and his coaches have to say.

"Their new staff has already called me," Wallace said recently. "I'm still committed to Southern Miss, I haven't heard from their new coach yet. I'm willing to see what Malzahn has to say."

Wallace, a three star prospect by Scout.com, is a two year starter for Phenix City. He accounted for more than 2,000 total yards as a junior, 1,200 yards passing and 850 on the ground for a total of 27 touchdowns.

Malzahn is known for great offenses," Wallace said. "He will do great things at Arkansas State."
