It's also very obvious that the best is still yet to come. The future is very bright for the Arkansas State Football program in 2012.

Instead of ranking the story lines from 1-15, we will look at them from a calendar's chroniclogical order.

Story line No. 1: The arrival of AStateNation.com in Jonesboro. Scout.com and Fox Sports brought Arkansas State's first full time website to ASU. A full time publisher that lived in Jonesboro bringing you the most up to date coverage in team coverage, recruiting and much more. AStateNation.com became the fastest growing website in the Scout.com network. AStateNation.com joined forces with 103.9 The Game in the end of September to bring Red Wolf fans its first one hour and now two hour dedicated show for just ASU fans.

Story line No. 2: The come from behind victory over Western Kentucky. At the time no one realized they were watching the top two teams in the conference battle it out. ASU showed that they could win the close games on the road, something they had not done in a long time.

Story line No. 3: Defeating ULM to win back to back road conference games since the 1980's. By winning 24-19 in a close game, again the Red Wolves proved that they could find a way to win instead of finding a way to lose the close games on the road.

Story line No. 4: Arkansas State defeated the defending Sun Belt Champions FIU 34-16 in Jonesboro during a Tuesday night game in front of a National TV audience. To give ASU a 3-0 conference record.

Story line No. 5: This memorable season was a season of several first time accomplishments. One being the first time that Arkansas State ever won at Florida Atlantic University.

Story line No. 6: Beating Louisiana Lafayette to knock the Cajuns out of a chance to win the conference championship and securing the Red Wolves their sixth straight win.

Story line No. 7: Beating Middle Tennessee at Middle for the first time in a very long time. Winning their seventh Sun Belt Conference game.

Story line No. 8: Receiving a Go Daddy.com Bowl Bid, the first FBS Bowl invite to be issued in 2011.

Story line No. 9: Earning at least a share of the conference championship and receiving Sun Belt Trophy at Red Wolves Women's Basketball game the day after the Middle Tennessee win.

Story line No. 10: Ending a four game losing streak to Troy, winning the Sun Belt Conference Championship out right and going undefeated in Sun Belt play with a perfect 8-0 record.

Story line No. 11: Hugh Freeze resigning after leading ASU to a 10-2 record to take the Head Coaching job at Ole Miss.

Story line No. 12: Gus Malzahn, a Arkansas native returning home to Arkansas to become the next head coach at ASU.

Story line No. 13: Arkansas State University Football team has the opportunity to become the first Sun Belt team to ever win 11 games in a season. They will play Northern Illinois a week from today in the Go Daddy.Com Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.
