An Arkansas athlete couldn't turn down the opportunity to play for Gus Malzahn and his home state Red Wolves. Searcy quarterback Dezmond Stegall had committed to Louisiana Tech, but decided late Tuesday evening to switch his pledge to the Red Wolves.
Stegall confirmed with AStateNation.com Tuesday evening he indeed switched his commitment from being a Bulldog to being a Red Wolf.
"It was just an opportunity I couldn't pass up," Stegall told AStateNation.com. "They are going to give me a shot at playing quarterback, thats all I can ask for."
The chance to play for Gus Malzahn and his offensive system was too much to pass up.
"I just couldn't tell them no," Stegall said. "When it come down to it, I knew it was where I belonged."
Stegall becomes the 11th Arkansas Athlete to commit to Malzahn in his first recruiting class.
