Rayford impressed with Arkansas State

Gus Malzahn and his Arkansas State Coaching staff are getting a lot of unofficial visits to the Jonesboro campus. Memphis wideout Latevius Rayford made the trip to ASU Tuesday, go "Inside" for the latest on his recruitment and his thoughts of the Red Wolf Football program.

Arkansas State's Head Football Coach Gus Malzahn is preparing for his first spring camp at ASU beginning Wednesday.

That apparently isn't keeping the new head coach and his staff from welcoming some of the top prospects to the campus for unofficial visits.

Memphis Central wide out Latevius Rayford took the trip to Jonesboro Tuesday to check out the campus and to get to know the coaching staff a little better, it apparently worked.

"I have a good relationship with their coaching staff," Rayford told AStateNation.com Tuesday evening as he was driving back to the Bluff City. "Coach Ingram is recruiting me for the Red Wolves, I like him a lot."

Rayford, a 6-foot-0, 180-pound wideout was also impressed with Malzahn and his former accomplishments at Auburn.

"He is great," Rayford said. "He coached Cam Newton, he really knows what he is doing. He has some championship rings to prove it."

Rayford currently has offers from Western Kentucky and Arizona State, he is hoping for one from the Red Wolves.

"It would be great to get an offer from them," Rayford said. "It's close to home, I really like their facilities and the coaching staff."
