One of Mississippi's top quarterback has three offers in hand, it's one that he doesn't have that has him a little intrigued.
Jackson Prep signal caller Ryan Buchanan grew up with a lot of his family attending Ole Miss. Buchanan will be the first to admit that he has a lot of respect for the Rebels but is open to look outside the state if necessary.
One school's head coach that is intriguing to the talented quarterback is Arkansas State's Gus Malzahn.
"I definitely have some interest in Arkansas State because of Gus Malzahn," Buchanan told AStateNation.com last week. "He did a great job at Auburn, he is a big name coach, he is definitely a name that quarterbacks across the country will pay attention to."
Buchanan, who's sister attends Ole Miss and his grandfather has buildings on campus with the family name on it, isn't ruling out giving the Rebel's their proper consideration.
"I really like Coach Freeze a lot," Buchanan said. "I know that Arkansas State is where he came from and they had a great year there last year. It's definitely a program on the rise. Coach Freeze is a very cool guy, he is easy to talk to and he is a player's coach. I like his personality."
Buchanan also has an offer from instate Mississippi State and although he has grown up amongst Rebels, also has some friends that root for the Bulldogs.
"In this state most kids are either an Ole Miss fan or State fan," Buchanan said. "Right now I'm leaving all my options open."
The other school that has offered is Syracuse.
"I plan on calling Arkansas State this next week and set up a trip to their campus possibly," Buchanan said. "They have been trying to get a hold of me, I will reach out to them and try to get to know them a little better. I would definitely love to get an offer from them."
