One Ohio athlete recently took an unofficial visit to Jonesboro on Monday and came away impressed with Malzahn's Football program.

Vandalia, Ohio defensive tackle Connor Matlock recently spoke to AStateNation.com about his visit to Jonesboro.

"The went great," Matlock said. "I got a tour of the campus and facilities and a chance to sit down and visit with the coaching staff."

Matlock was impressed with Arkansas State's facilities.

"I really like their facilities a lot," Matlock said. "They are the best I have seen so far."

That's saying a whole lot, the talented defensive tackle has already made visits to Indiana, Penn State, Wake Forest and Akron.

"They told me they would be in touch with me this Sunday after their spring game," Matlock said. "I'm definitely hoping for an offer from them."

Matlock got a chance to watch Malzahn lead his Red Wolves through a practice Monday morning.

"I was impressed on how they run their practices," Matlock said. "I really like Coach Malzahn and Coach Casey Woods a lot."
