Everyone knows that Arkansas State is making it a priority to recruit its home state, but it also appears that Gus Malzahn and his coaching staff are doing a pretty good job recruiting the Pelican State as well.

AStateNation.com recently spoke to Monroe Ouachita's linebacker Caleb Tucker to get his thoughts on the Red Wolves.

"I was really excited when I received an offer from Gus Malzahn and Arkansas State," Tucker said. "It's truly a blessing. A lot of football players don't get this opportunity to play at the next level."

Tucker, who currently has offers from the likes of Washington, Arkansas State, SMU, Louisiana Tech, Tulane, ULM, Memphis and ULL, feels that Houston may be the next team to offer.

Tucker is a 6-foot-2, 225-pound linebacker who has been clocked in the forty yard dash at 4.53.

Tucker appears to be impressed with what Malzahn is doing already at Arkansas State.

"Their team was already pretty good," Tucker said. "They seem to be on the move with Coach Malzahn coaching there now."

Red Wolf veteran offensive line coach J.B. Grimes is recruiting Tucker for Arkansas State.

"Coach Grimes and I are already getting close," Tucker said. "I plan on taking a visit there sometime this summer to check things out."
