Texas three star quarterback Damion Hobbs
was stunned by the news Tuesday when a couple of his teammates informed him that Gus Malzahn was leaving Arkansas State
to take the head coaching job at Auburn
AStateNation.com visited with Hobbs Tuesday night to get his reaction.
"I'm disappointed," Hobbs said. "While disappointed in the news, I'm not going to focus on the coaching change right now. We are two games away from a state championship, that is all I care about right now."
Hobbs said that he would discuss and think about the situation once the playoffs were over.
"I'm putting that out of my mine right now, the most important thing is to win a State Championship."
Hobbs, who picked Arkansas State over Missouri and Nebraska, due to the Red Wolf Football program having Gus Malzahn, stated that one thing hasn't changed at this point.
"Right now I'm still committed," Hobbs said. "I got to talk to Coach (Rhett) Lashlee today, I'm not sure if he is going with Coach Malzahn or not. He told me to hang in there, he was concerned about me."
Hobbs plans on evaluating his commitment after his senior season is over.
