One Alabama athlete has been committed to Arkansas State for some time now, even through two coaching staffs.
Eufaula High School outside linebacker/safety Xavier Woodson made his pledge back in August of his senior season to the Red Wolves, wow how much can change in less than six months.
Arkansas State got their third straight new head coach in three years, but after Woodson's official visit this past weekend, the coaching change isn't bothering him at all.
"I'm really impressed with Coach (Bryan) Harsin and the staff he is putting together," Woodson said. "The other coaching staff talked about being the Boise State of the South, this coaching staff has experience being the mid major program in the country."
Two of the coaches that remained on Harsin's staff from last years, John Thompson and Eliah Drinkwitz are two of his favorite coaches that he had developed solid relationships with.
"Coach Eliah is great," Woodson said. "I really look forward to playing for John Thompson and his defensive system. He is a great coach and will be fun to play for."
Woodson really enjoyed getting to know his new head coach.
"He is really cool," Woodson said. "Very easy to talk to, very down to earth and you can tell he is a player's type coach."
When asked about his commitment status to Arkansas State, Woodson didn't hesitate.
"I'm 1000 percent committed to Arkansas State," Woodson said. "No more visits for me. I'm very happy with my choice, this visit weekend definitely confirmed that for me."
