Playing for an established winning program was too much for one Alabama athlete to pass up.
Florence defensive back Jamaris Hart had been committed to Alabama Birmingham for a couple of months, it took one trip to Jonesboro Arkansas for Hart to have a change of heart.
"This really feels like home," Hart told AStateNation.com Sunday morning. "I love the fact that they have a winning tradition, they aren't building their program, it's already a winner."
Hart was definitely aware of the fact that Arkansas State has won back to back 10 win seasons.
"I got to visit with the players a lot," Hart said. "Everybody is talking about winning their conference the last two years, they are excited about winning it every year."
Hart, a 5-foot-8, 170-pound athlete, is known for his speed.
"I have ran a 4.3 forty several times," Hart said. "Arkansas State is recruiting me to play corner. They are telling me that I can come in and contribute very early."
Hart didn't know what to expect before his visit to Jonesboro.
"It was much better than I expected it to be," Hart said. "They have a great campus, everything is close by. I really like the atmosphere here, the fans really get excited about all of their teams."
Hart appears to be through with the recruiting process.
"I'm done," Hart said. "I have found the perfect place for me. No more visits, no more talking to other schools. I can't wait to be a Red Wolf."
