Basketball Recruiting Heating Up

Basketball recruiting season is nigh. Beginning tomorrow, the Arkansas State Red Wolves coaching staff will travel the country looking for the recruits for the 2014 class.

Over the next three weeks, ASU coaches will be at summer amateur tournaments in Indianapolis, St. Louis, Orlando, Las Vegas and Kansas City.

ASU will lose five seniors from this year's team. Among the players Astatenation has learned there are scholarship offers to are 5-foot-11 Jonesboro point guard Karon Ross, 6-foot-10 Bryce Cashman of West Platte, Mo., 6-4 shooting guard Keeton Tennison of Valley Springs, 6-foot-4 wingman Columbus (Ohio) Pickerington Central Connor Kern, and 6-4 guard Troy Holston from Oldsmar (Fla.) Christian. Holston recently tweeted he has 13 offers.

Another prospect on the Red Wolves' radar is 6-9 Xavier Dupree, who signed with ASU last year but will attend junior college this year.

Expect many more offers from the Red Wolves over the next month as coach John Brady attends several of the tournaments.

ASU has 13 players on campus, the only one missing is Brandon Reed, who is finishing up classes at Georgia Tech. The 13 players will make up the team that plays in Canada next month.
